Gone By: Michael Grant

Gone is a story of a city full of kids. Everyone over the age of fourteen in the city disappears, all at once. A barrier forms around the small town and a small group of kids try to figure out what is going on. Some of the kids are given strange powers. Animals mutate. The Internet is dysfunctional and phones are rendered useless. This book is great. It shows what happens to civilizations when something goes dramatically wrong: panic and then a very, very, slow recovery. This book is the first in a series of great books. This book, and the others in the series, are worth everyone’s time.
