Dr. Mario 64 is a puzzle game for the N64. It uses Paper Mario-like graphics, and no text or speech, to represent the story of Wario stealing the cure for the common cold from Mario. Its control scheme is weird if you have ever played a different game for the N64. It uses the outer two handles (?), the face buttons and the control pad; making one’s hand awkwardly far apart compared to most other N64 games. If you do not care for a story mode: this game makes no improvements over the original (that I know of), the only thing that this does better than Dr. Mario Express is multiplayer, and Dr. Mario Online Rx is infinitely better than this. So, if you own any of the other games in the series, I suggest you don’t add this to your collection. But if you don’t own another entry, this game is a good place to start.
